I've decided to resurrect an old project, the Trumpeter T-62, mod 1962. When I bought the kit, I was really excited to work on a new model of the T-62. I had built a couple of the older Tamiya kits and while they were decent, I wanted something better after learning what was wrong with the Tamiya T-62. Along comes Trumpeter with their early T-62 version and all was right with the modeling world. I jumped in and started building the kit. It generally went okay and then I started finding some problems and reading build reviews. That is when the flaws started showing up. This link http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/thread/1256368532/T-62+woes points out the obvious flaws. I'm not a big fan of the two part wheels as they didn't fit well no matter what I did. Anyway, here are some pictures of my current progress:

Hooooosier the owl
Hooooosier the owl

Well, this is as good as any picture to blow the dust off of my blog and get going again with posts. I chose this picture because of this magnificent owl. I took many shots of him, trying to get this view. He was very curious of his surroundings and the people in the crowd. He was quite the friendly bird and would respond with a "hoot" if anyone talked to him.

The processing is over. I finally finished working on all of the pictures from the recent AMPS 2010 show. It was a blast and I didn't spend as much as I thought I would spend. That's a good thing I guess. Still, I would have liked to have found some p/e for the Trumpeter Type 89, PLA anti tank gun and finding the kit itself would have been a bonus as well. Dinner at Mad Anthonys on Friday was a lot of fun and the food was excellent and very well priced. If I am ever in the Auburn area again (or Ft. Wayne for that matter), I will definitely visit the restaurant. Here are some pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/indykaleu/AMPS2010#
Maybe someday I will figure out the code to make "here" the link to the pictures. I'm still working on the ZTZ-99, the lower hull is done and I've started working on the turret.

Can you smell the resin?
One more day until AMPS. Everything is packed and ready to go. I'm taking three models for display on the Indy AMPS table. I hope more members bring models for the table. The fliers are printed and ready to go. If all goes well, I'll be able to post some pictures either tomorrow night or this weekend. Work on the HB ZTZ-99B has slowed down, but should get more done once I return from the show.
On the gaming side of things, Steam is downloading the new dlc for Left 4 Dead 2. The download is going slow, I guess I got on at the wrong time. Oh well, at least I will get some game time in before I leave in the morning.

First time blogger
Well, as the title says, this is the first time I have posted or created a blog. I was looking for a place to show of my scale model builds, photography, share my love of books, FPS games or any other random thought. I'm undecided about using Adsense. I like the idea of getting a check in the mail just for having a blog, but will anyone click on the ads? Thoughts? Right now I'm working on the Hobbyboss ZTZ-99B and Tamiya T-72. I'll post pictures of both builds sometime soon and when I figure out how to link pictures in this blog. Below is a picture of the HB kit. I don't think I will paint the digital camo; too much masking. As for the Tamiya T-72, it will done in a Slovakian camo pattern.
